Out of time so back to the UK.
After using up all my Schengen time it was time to leave Breton and return back to the UK. I caught the ferry from Saint Malo to Portsmouth, enjoying the splendour of the tower in Portsmouth as we entered the harbour.
After staying the night in Portsmouth, I rode home. Even the weather knew I was leaving as it rained all the way to Saint Malo, and then all the way from Portsmouth to Scotland.
Normandy and Brittany are close to the major ferry-ports. If you are thinking of travelling abroad next year and need encouragement - then do it. The roads are great, the locals ever so helpful, the food wonderful and the scenery is perfect.
