A visit to Scandinavia - Stockholm on Film

Two film cameras - and a lot of faith...

I have family living in Stockholm, so I'm no stranger to the city. I for this visit instead of taking a modern digital camera with me, I took two film cameras: a 6x6cm and a 35mm camera. I was worried about the x-rays damaging the film but I needn't have worried. Everything was fine.

Balda

These pictures were taken on a Balda camera, a German dating from the 1950's. The only way to focus this cameras is to guess the distance and set the lens distance manually. Also, there are only about six shutter speeds, with the fasted shutter speed being 1/300 sec. Mind you, it was an overcast day so I needn't have worried... HP5 developed in D76, scanned using an Epson Expression.

Voigtlander Bessa

These pictures were taken using a Voigtlander Bessa, which is a 35mm rangefinder camera. Originally, Voigtlanders were made in Germany but disappeared in the 1970's. The marque was relaunched by Cosina in the 1990's and made in Japan. This camera dates from the mid 90's. I was using HP5 developed in D76 and scanned using an Epson Expression.
