I have been employed as a photographer since the 1980’s, and since 2006 I have been working for myself – freelance.
Unfortunately, when you are paid to be a photographer, you forget to take pictures for yourself. Ask any long-term photographer. It’s true.
It just becomes a job. Don’t get me wrong, when I go onto a job I still give 200% – but when I get home I would sooner do something else other than take pictures or sit in front of a computer screen. There’s walking the dog, reading, DIY or anything else.
So, I’ve started to pick up a camera again in my own time to try and re-kindle some of that lost spirit and reconnect with photography.
